Paving concrete curbs sounds simple. But many contractors struggle with slow manual labor, uneven lines, and high material waste. A curb and gutter machine solves these problems fast. It pours, shapes, and finishes concrete curbs in one continuous pass. No forms. No prefabrication. For a road contractor, this machine means fewer workers, less material waste, and faster project completion. This concrete edging machine is trusted by contractors worldwide.
YG Machinery offers two models: the YG-20 wheeled curb machine for small and medium projects, and the YG-30 crawler curb machine for highways and large infrastructure.

How a Slipform Curb Machine Works?
The slipform curb machine operates in a continuous flow. Concrete is loaded into the hopper. A high-torque hydraulic motor drives the screw feeder. The spiral blade pushes concrete forward into the forming mold.
Inside the mold, high-frequency vibrators shake the concrete. This removes air bubbles and ensures dense, strong concrete. The machine moves forward while the mold shapes the concrete. The curb comes out the back fully formed and finished. No separate finishing step needed.
This kerb laying machine can pave both straight lines and curves up to 6.8m radius. The automatic steering system follows a laser or string line for perfect alignment.

Key Advantages of Curb and Gutter Machine
No forms needed – Traditional curbs require wooden or steel forms. This slipform paver needs none. Save form material and installation labor.
Continuous paving – Pour curbs in one continuous run. No joints between sections. Stronger, better looking, faster.
Up to 10x faster than manual – Pave at 1-10 meters per minute. A 1km curb takes less than 2 hours instead of 2 weeks.
One operator – The machine needs only one trained operator. Manual methods need 20-30 workers.
Less material waste – Precise extrusion uses only what is needed. No over-pouring. No cutting waste.
Handles curves – Minimum turning radius of 6.8 meters. Pave curved driveways, roundabouts, and winding roads.
Versatile shapes – Change the mold to change the curb profile. Flat top, sloped, barrier, or decorative.
Works on slopes – The YG-30 crawler tracks provide stability on slopes up to 15 degrees.
Applications of Concrete Curb Machine
Highway shoulders and medians – The YG-30 handles long distances with its 1100mm height capacity for tall barriers.
Municipal roads and city streets – The YG-20 wheeled model is easy to move between job sites.
Drainage channels – Change the mold to create V-shaped or U-shaped gutters. Perfect for stormwater management.
Airport runways – Edge drains and shoulder curbs for runways and taxiways. ±5mm precision meets aviation standards.
Parking lots – Define parking spaces with concrete borders. Fast paving means parking lots open sooner.
Landscape borders – Decorative curbs for parks and golf courses. The machine creates smooth, attractive lines.
Residential sidewalks – The YG-20 fits through standard gates and works in tight spaces.
Traffic islands and roundabouts – The 6.8m turning radius handles curved islands easily. No custom precast pieces needed.
A single curb and gutter machine serves all these industries.

Customer Case: Highway Expansion in Vietnam
A construction company in Vietnam was contracted to expand a 25km highway from two lanes to four lanes. The project required new concrete curbs on both sides of the road. The original plan used precast curbs, but the logistics were difficult. The precast plant was far away. Transport costs were high. Installation was slow.
The contractor chose the YG-30 crawler curb and gutter machine. The machine arrived within 60 days. Local operators received training in three days. They set up a small concrete batch plant on site.
The results:
- Paving speed reached 9 meters per minute
- 50km of curb (both sides) was completed in 10 working days
- Workers reduced from 30 to 3 (1 operator + 2 concrete supply)
- No transport costs. No cracked pieces from delivery
- The highway project finished 4 weeks ahead of schedule
The project manager said: “The YG-30 saved us months of work. Transporting precast curbs would have taken forever and cost a fortune. The machine paved perfect curbs right where we needed them. We finished early and under budget.”
Which One Do You Need? YG-20 vs YG-30
| Your project requirement | Recommended model | Why |
| Sidewalks, bike paths, small parking lots | YG-20 (wheeled) | Compact, easy to tow between small jobs |
| City streets, residential roads | YG-20 (wheeled) | Good balance of size and speed |
| Tall curbs or barriers (over 600mm) | YG-30 (crawler) | 1100mm height capacity |
| Highways, main roads, long distances | YG-30 (crawler) | Stable at high speed, good for long runs |
| Rough terrain, slopes, uneven ground | YG-30 (crawler) | Crawler tracks provide stability |
| Need to move machine between multiple sites | YG-20 (wheeled) | Easier to tow on a trailer |
| Drainage channels and gutters | Both models (different molds) | YG-30 for larger channels |
The YG-20 is the best concrete curb machine for sale when you need portability. The YG-30 is the best for heavy-duty highway work.

Slipform Paver vs Traditional Precast Method
