Reinforced Concrete Cutting Project in Monterrey
The contractor worked on an existing structure where the team needed to separate one defined section instead of demolishing a larger area. The concrete measured approximately 650 mm in thickness, while dense steel reinforcement increased resistance along parts of the cutting route.
Preparing the Diamond Wire Cutting Route

Diamond Wire Cutting Through 650 mm Concrete
The main diamond wire cutting work took approximately 7 hours for the planned 18 metres. Cutting speed varied according to reinforcement density and equipment repositioning.
The continuous diamond wire created a defined separation path through the thick structural section. Unlike impact demolition, the process focused on following predetermined cutting lines rather than breaking a larger surrounding area.
Meanwhile, the wireless controller allowed the operator to manage the machine from a suitable position. This arrangement helped the team work around the restricted renovation area while monitoring wire movement and hydraulic operation.
After the team completed the required cuts, workers separated the concrete section and connected it to lifting equipment. They then removed the section and prepared the remaining structure for the next renovation stage.
