How a Bottle Blowing Machine Works
PET bottles are made in two steps.
Step 1: Preform Making (not done by this machine) – PET pellets become test-tube-shaped preforms. The preform has the bottle neck finished. The body is thick and short.
Step 2: Bottle Blowing (this machine) – The preform goes into the machine. Infrared lamps heat the body. High-pressure air blows it into the mold shape. The bottle stretches against the mold walls. Cold air cools it. The finished bottle drops out.
If a preform is bad, you catch it before blowing. No wasted energy. No wasted material.
